It all started with gathering the required documentation to apply for Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa. From marriage and birth certificates to proof of income and health records, we assembled every document, apostilled it, translated it into Spanish, and navigated the complex submission process. After selling our home in North Carolina, we boldly moved to Madrid, Spain.
One of our proudest moments came when we were approved for the 3-year Digital Nomad Visa for our family of four. With that crucial approval, we established our new life in Madrid. We enrolled our children in a semi-private school, a vital part of making them feel at home in this vibrant city.

The practical aspects of relocating followed quickly. We found a lovely home to rent, set up utilities, and began to learn the ins and outs of daily life in Spain—everything from where to buy groceries to how to navigate the local transportation system.

Learning Spanish was another important milestone in helping us fully integrate into the culture and community here.
